Job Title: Sr. Azure DevOps - Cloud Platform Engineer
Location: 100% Remote in the US

Compensation: starting at $75/ hour W2, negotiable based on experience and tax terms (LLC vs W2)
ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE
Medix is currently seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer for a fully remote opportunity with one of our top clients - a Healthcare Service provider, serving Federal Government Contract vehicles - involving the DoD, DoJ, DHS, etc.
Our client is building a greenfield Azure platform to deploy custom-built, full-stack web application products that are being developed in Microservices Architecture (with the goal of dockerization and full end-to-end automation for deployments to Azure.
This individual will be serving as a Senior Engineer to build this greenfield platform from scratch - including the Azure Infrastructure, Azure Networking, Terraform automation, and AKS clusters.
Due to the fact that this role involves DoD end-customers, US Citizenship is required. Microsoft Azure, Hashicorp Terraform, and CKA/CKAD Certifications would all be considered a plus - but are not mandatory requirements. Must have 5+ years of concentrated and consistent Azure experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WILL INCLUDE:
- Working as an Azure Cloud Platform Engineer to build an automated deployment platform for custom home grown microservice based applications
- Seeking deep expertise in Azure infrastructure, networking and security (preferably in a highly compliant industry - ie, DISA, NIST 800-53 security requirements)
- Developing and managing Terraform modules
- Automating the entire CI/CD pipeline process - from ADO & Git code repositories through production deployments, using Terraform as IaC.
- Setting up, configuring, troubleshooting AKS Kubernetes clusters
- Orchestrating and managing docker containers through the use of tools like ArgoCD, automatically updating images from changes in the Git repo.
- Creating and managing Helm charts for deployments
- Following a variety of deployment strategies (ie, blue-green, canary, etc)
- Investigating and resolving the escalated engineering issues for production workloads in a cloud environment
- Setting up the application logging and metrics using using tools like Prometheus and Grafana dashboards
- Documenting best-processes and standards for knowledge-base
- Assisting in support software and/or cloud-infrastructure on an on-call rotation basis
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS
- US Citizenship is required
- 8-10+ years total experience
- Minimum 5 years consistent experience in the Microsoft Azure Cloud
- 3+ years with Terraform Enterprise
- 3+ years experience with Kubernetes (AKS preferred)
- Strong experience with Docker and CD tools like ArgoCD
- Experience with cloud monitoring / metrics tools like Prometheus or Grafana
