Specimen Prep Tech

Medix is hiring a Specimen Prep Tech for a lab in Phoenix, AZ paying $15.25/hr + shift differential (Overnight shift) and benefits! A great opportunity to work within one of the area's top health networks!

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30pm-4am (rotating Saturdays)

When you work a Saturday shift, you will get a day off during the week.

Qualifications:

• Excellent attendance
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Production employees or food service experience recommended

Responsibilities:

• Enters and verifies patient demographics, location, physician data, tests requested, time and date of collection, appropriate clinical information and all other pertinent data found on requisitions submitted.
• Verifies accuracy of entered information.
• Aliquots and labels specimens according to established departmental procedures and practices; delivers specimens to the technical floor in a timely manner.
• Meets or exceeds department quality performance metrics on all work performed.
• Complies with all safety rules, and follows defined safety practices.
• Provides basic technical support for less experienced Specimen Preparation Technicians, answers questions and directs them to appropriate resources.
