Shipping and Receiving Technician

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

· Accurately handle incoming shipments of biological materials.

· Perform routine laboratory analyses and tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products following established procedures.

· Assist in the preparation and formulation of biological materials while adhering to safety standards.

· Organize and store biological materials in freezers and refrigerators for easy access by team members.

· Pick, pack, and label outgoing packages in accordance with DOT/IATA specifications and shipping requirements.

· Securely package biological materials using dry ice or cold packs.

· Maintain inventory of supplies and packages in the department.

· Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and maintain a clean working environment.

· Accurately record data and results in specified forms (both paper and electronic).

· Prepare samples by filtering and aliquoting materials, and process orders according to SOPs.

· Assist with general laboratory upkeep, including equipment maintenance and inventory management.

Other duties may include:

· Performing data and record-keeping tasks.

· Completing the monthly safety equipment checklist.

· Demonstrating flexibility in working hours when needed.

· Working independently and effectively under pressure.

· Practicing safe work habits, including compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in science preferred.

· Comfortable working with biological materials.

· Team player who takes work seriously but maintains a light-hearted approach.

· Dedicated, reliable, high-energy self-starter.
