Job description

The Senior Training Specialist for Environmental Services (EVS) is essential in advancing staff training and development within the department. This role involves managing onboarding processes, boosting staff retention, ensuring compliance with regulations, and improving patient experience and satisfaction.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  1. Training Coordination: Research, coordinate, and implement essential training programs focused on cleaning and disinfection practices, auditing tools, competencies, job aids, in-services, and skills labs. Develop and maintain evaluation systems to measure the effectiveness of educational programs, using feedback to continuously refine training materials and methods in collaboration with the Training Manager.
  2. Onboarding and Assessment: Oversee the onboarding and training process for new hires, ensuring they acquire the necessary competencies for their roles. Conduct initial assessments to evaluate new employees' readiness and willingness to learn and perform their assigned tasks.
  3. Collaboration and Improvement: Work closely with human resources and department managers to ensure effective organizational orientation and technical training that aligns with best practices. Identify opportunities for improvement and lead or participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing performance and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Communication, Adult Education, Training, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

  • At least three (3) years of experience in Environmental Services (EVS) or other acute care support services (e.g., Nutrition Services).

  • Demonstrated experience in training team members.

  • Reliable automobile for work-related use and adhere to the organization's vehicle use policy.

  • Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of insurance required.

Certifications (to be obtained within 6 months of hire):
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (T-CHEST)

  • Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (T-CSCT)

  • Serve Safe Certification

Schedule/Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Pay: $25 - $36 / hour + 401(K) + sick + medical, dental, vision insurance
Contract: 520 hours (3-4 months). Covert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.
