Position Summary:

The Senior Training Specialist - Support Services (EVS) plays a vital role in enhancing staff training and development within the Environmental Services (EVS) department. This position is responsible for overseeing onboarding processes, improving staff retention, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing patient experience and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Coordination:
    • Research, coordinate, and implement core training programs covering cleaning and disinfection practices, auditing tools, competencies, job aids, in-services, and skills labs.
    • Develop and maintain evaluation systems to assess the effectiveness of educational programs, utilizing feedback to refine and enhance training materials and delivery in collaboration with the Training Manager.
  • Onboarding and Assessment:
    • Provide comprehensive oversight of new hires during their onboarding and training process, ensuring they acquire necessary competencies for their roles.
    • Conduct initial department assessments to evaluate new hires' readiness and willingness to learn and perform assigned tasks.
  • Collaboration and Improvement:
    • Interface with human resources and department managers to facilitate successful organizational orientation and technical training consistent with best practices.
    • Identify and address opportunities for improvement, leading or participating in performance and process improvement projects.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Associate's degree in communication, adult education, training, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of three (3) years in Environmental Services (EVS) or other Acute Care support services (e.g., Nutrition Services).
    • Proven experience in training team members.
  • Certifications (to be obtained within 6 months of placement):
    • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (T-CHEST).
    • Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (T-CSCT).
    • Serve Safe Certification.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must provide a reliable automobile for work-related use and comply with the organization's vehicle use policy.
    • Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of insurance.
