ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is a global supplier of medical / surgical supplies. This role will be joining a larger initiative to overhaul the back-end of their public-facing eCommerce portals - all custom-built by an in-house product team in the Microsoft Azure tech stack.

This role will be joining a small team as a QA Lead - both as a leader of people, and a leader of technology initiatives. We are seeking individuals with 7-10+ years of experience, who have been in a leadership position for a minimum of 3 years, and who are experienced with modern application development testing best-practices.

Please note - this role is hybrid on site one day / week in the Northern Chicago Suburbs, working in-person with other QA Engineers.


DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working in hybrid leadership and hands-on testing role.
  • Leadership will include helping to grow a team - helping to onboard, train, coach and mentor junior SDETs
  • Leadership will also include lead on technology initiatives - evaluating the environment and optimizing efficiency wherever possible
  • Working within the C# / Microsoft Azure environment
  • Testing microservices applications in isolation (unit tests, integration tests), and how those services communicate and exchange data (component tests, contract tests and End-to-end tests)
  • Taking a senior role in understanding the test requirements from both a technical and business logic angle
  • Partnering closely with the Product Organization and the Scrum Teams


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required 7-10+ years professional experience
  • Required 3+ years in a Team Leadership / Mentor role
  • Required expertise in SDET / QA Testing
  • Manual and Automation testing for full-stack applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and CI/CD environments
  • Experience with tools like Selenium, Appium, Playwright
