This is a part-time role with an estimated 20 to 30 hours per week. With a new surgeon joining the team in December, there is potential for the position to transition to full-time.

* Support patient transfer to and from the operating room.
* Assist in the care, labeling, and disposal of specimens and wound dressing.
* Provide clerical support as needed, including answering phones and pulling charts.
* Set up and maintain the sterile field, ensuring sterile technique is adhered to at all times.
* Anticipate the surgeon's needs and ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are readily available.
* Assist with patient pre-operative procedures, including washing, shaving, and disinfecting the surgical site.
* Assist the surgeon with tasks such as draping, sponging, retracting, passing instruments, cutting sutures, and other requests as needed.
* Prepare the operating room for surgery, ensuring all equipment and supplies are gathered and the room is sterilized and in working order.

Qualifications
* Must be adaptable to changing hours as needed
* 6 months to 1 year of hands-on scrub tech experience
* Ability to perform effectively in a very fast-paced surgical setting
* No Accreditation Required: Surgical technologist program certification is not necessary for this role.

Preferred
* Ophthalmology experience is a significant bonus.

Schedule and Availability
* Schedules are planned at least one month in advance.
* Surgeries are conducted Monday through Thursday; no surgeries are scheduled on Fridays or weekends.
* If the candidate desires additional hours, they may have the opportunity to travel to other clinic locations.

Pay Rate
* $25 to $37 an hour depending on experience
