- Overview
Job Description
- We has clinics inside 8 city schools that are used for students during the day as well as primary care services. 4 days a week, kids are coming in for headaches, stomach aches, illness, injury, and that's the traditional side of nursing. Paired with an MA/CNA that works with the Nurse on the traditional side of school health.
- Daily Meds - some kids have insulin shots or other medications that they need help taking daily
- Pharmacy sends all medications right to the school for the kids to pick up
- One day a week, they have an NP come into each school. NP will come with an additional MA to manage clinic visits. The Nurse will identify students during the week that may need to see the NP when they come. Some kids need physicals, nurses doing flu shots, as of September 30th - all kids need to be up to date on vaccines. Varicella, Hep B, MMR. A lot of students are immigrants, need to catch them up on any shots they are missing to stay in school.
- NP might order a medication that comes the next day to the school. Nurse would track that and make sure it's received.

- Will on float as needed, will not be often, but they will need coverage from time to time
Hours:
- Collington: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm
- Sinclair: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4pm
Summers:
Nurses will be offered hours in the clinics over the summer should they choose to take them. A lot of folks choose to take the two months off and spend it with family. sends emails in April to see who wants to take those shifts.
Parking:
- Free on the street or parking lot depending on the school
Pay: 40-45/hr based on exp3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications- RN
- Pediatrics Experience a plus
- Open on Background (Inpatient/Outpatient/LTC all acceptable
