Job description

Job Title: Occupational Health Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and qualified individual to join our team as an Occupational Health Specialist. This position offers a unique opportunity for EMTs, paramedics, RNs, or LPNs to utilize their medical expertise in an occupational health setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting workplace health and safety, with a focus on treating work-related injuries, conducting hearing tests, performing floor walks, and assisting with administrative duties. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, as it involves weekend and weekday shifts.

Hours:

  • Sunday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM
  • Monday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medical Treatment: Provide timely and effective medical care to employees for work-related injuries and illnesses, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up care.
  2. Hearing Tests: Administer and interpret hearing tests to monitor and maintain employees' hearing health in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Floor Walks: Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Provide recommendations for improvements as needed.
  4. Administrative Duties: Assist with maintaining accurate medical records, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with other healthcare providers as necessary. Ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations.
  5. Health Promotion: Collaborate with management to develop and implement initiatives to promote employee health and wellness, such as ergonomic assessments and health education programs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as an EMT, paramedic, RN, or LPN, with a current license in good standing.
  • Previous experience in occupational health, urgent care, or emergency medicine preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills, with the ability to handle medical emergencies and prioritize patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
