Job description

Registered Nurses for a Full-time Med/Surg opportunity at Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC.

You will NEVER be on-call or traveling!


Shift: 3 12s or 5 8s - NIGHTS ONLY
Location: 109 Bee Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29401 - Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center
Start Date: ASAP, Will need background check, drug/health screens and fingerprints
Duration: Indefinite contract with no end date!

Qualifications:
- 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience
- Licensed and/or certified in the South Carolina or have multistate licensure privilege to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Successful complete drug screen and background check during onboarding
Job Description:

  • Provide comprehensive care for patients with a variety of medical conditions and surgical needs
  • Perform assessments, administer medications, and monitor vital signs
  • Manage wound care, intravenous therapies, and other treatments
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and care plans
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care
  • Document patient status, treatments, and progress
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care as needed
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay updated on best practices
  • Other duties as provided
