Right Revenue Specialist

Job description

A third party RCM in Alameda, CA is looking for a Remote Revenue Specialist to join their team.

Must reside in one of these states: AZ, FL, GA, IL, LA, MN, OH, OR, SC, TX

Job Overview:

As a Revenue Recovery Specialist, you will be exposed to the complex reimbursement methodology between hospitals and insurance companies. Recovery specialists work closely with assigned project teams on the specialized retrospective recovery process. You will be exposed to various payers, clients, and systems. This position will investigate claims, follow up with payers, collect the insurance accounts receivable, escalate stalled claims and other related activities that enhance revenue collection for our clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follow-up with insurance carriers on underpaid claims by phone; complete follow-up actions as advised
  • Research claim variances in hospital patient accounting systems (EPIC, Meditech, Cerner, Athena)
  • Identify any payer specific issues remove barriers to processing claims
  • Draft appeals to insurance carriers on denied or underpaid claims
  • Review claim detail including coding, billing, and insurance information for discrepancies
  • Run claims data through various pricing software
  • Strives to maintain production, quality and project-based benchmarks

Requirements:

  • Facility / Hospital Background
  • UNDERPAYMENTS experience
  • Revenue cycle experience with transactions - retrospectively utilizing EMR as research tool, eligibility, reliability buckets - higher level insurance follow-up outside of calling payers (e.g. Look at claims coverage information and transaction history; Financial info within EMR system)
  • 3+ years of experience in RCM space - specifically back end RC
  • Strong computer and technical skills; excel, EMR experience, other...etc.
  • WFH/remote set up and work experience

Schedule/Shift:

  • Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 8:30 AM flexible local start time (8 hour shift)
  • Training for the first 30 days will start at 8:30 AM local start time

Contract Length:

800 Hours. Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract. The goal of this assignment is for you to find a long term home with this client.

Pay:

$18 - $25 (Dependant on experience)
