Overview

Residential Coordinator

Essentially helping out around the shelter. Could be cleaning, helping serve meals, making sure the facility rules are being followed, etc.

Driving is not listed as a requirement for this job.

Position: Residential Coordinator

Schedule:

Wednesday-Sunday: 8:00am-4:30pm or 4pm-12:30am

Tuesday-Saturday: 4pm-12:30am

Pay: Starting at $21.00 -25

PATH Santa Barbara is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is dedicated to assisting homeless individuals achieve greater health, wellness, and self-sufficiency, by helping as many as possible access the services they need to improve their health, find employment and transition to stable housing.

ABOUT THE JOB
As part of the Santa Barbara Team, the Residential Coordinator oversees the safety and basic needs of interim housing guests during their stay. Position Responsibilities include:

  • Complete progress notes on every face-to-face/telephone contact with participants or collateral contact by the end of each shift.
  • Provide facility tours to guests and new program participants.
  • Provide support to the case managers and program participants to support guest goals as established in individualized service plans.
  • Monitor and maintain the interim housing floors to ensure a hospitable and inclusive environment. This may include keeping program participant space organized and clean, providing hygiene needs, etc.
  • Work in collaboration with the case management and operations team to ensure that the facility is clean and safe for all.
  • Provide crisis intervention services focused on enhancing the participants' ability to independently problem solve, use effective coping skills, and manage own care.
  • Use evidence-based practices in service delivery such as intensive case management, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction.
  • Utilize lived experience to cultivate strong rapport and engagement in services.
  • Provide interim housing guests with information, referrals, linkages, and advocacy for identified needs as much as possible.

WHAT YOU BRING
We're looking for candidates that:

  • A high level of tolerance and understanding for individuals who present for services with urgent and multiple case management and health needs.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High level of motivation and self-starting demeanor with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • All levels of experience and education are welcome.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:

  • Have employment eligibility verification
  • Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
  • Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
    • Tuberculosis Test
    • Background Screening
    • Drug Test
