Veterinary Technician I - Join Our Team!
Location: Covington, LA

Schedule: 11am - 7pm Mon - Fri; every other weekend

About the Role

As a Veterinary Technician I, you'll assist veterinarians and researchers in diagnostic, surgical, and preventative procedures, radiology, animal care, and medical treatments. You'll play a key role in observing and supporting the well-being of animals while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostic, surgical, and non-surgical procedures.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples (e.g., blood, urine, feces) safely and humanely.
  • Monitor animals' health and provide postoperative care, including administering medications and supplemental nutrition.
  • Perform radiographic procedures and assist in preparing for special procedures.
  • Observe and report any abnormalities, sickness, or injuries in animals.
  • Maintain accurate animal records, treatment logs, and required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including biosafety and training requirements.

  • Proven ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Basic computer skills and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proven history working in a clinical veterinary setting.
  • Ability to work with laboratory animal species safely.
