Job description

Position Title: RESEARCH TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT (RTA)

Training schedule : Monday - Friday for 4-8 weeks from 8am - 4:30pm

After Training schedule: Tuesday - Saturday OR Sunday - Thursday 7am - 3:30pm OR 8am - 4:30pm depending on business need.

Research Technician Assistant supports the in-life personnel in conducting daily processes, assists staff in the operation and maintenance of equipment, instrumentation, and overall care in the laboratory environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Works under the direction of management.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly laboratory environment
  • Operates and maintains equipment
  • Perform study preparation per SOP/Protocol (Labels, tubes, etc.)
  • Ordering of warehouse supplies and data entry to laboratory inventory records
  • Assist in procedure set-up and clean up
  • Ensures proper documentation and labeling of laboratory reagents
  • Disposition of hazardous chemical, generation of the hazardous chemical lab pack and data entry to the laboratory hazardous chemical records
  • Performs paraffin tissue processing
  • Documentation and data review practices in compliance with GLP regulations
  • Assists staff with study-related procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 0-1 years in a regulated environment preferred, but not required
  • Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as study schedules, SOP's etc.
  • Working knowledge of basic math skills
  • Continual GLP training
