Job description

Overview

As an AR Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing a range of AR tasks related to hospital inpatient, outpatient, and Provider-based billing and collections. You'll start by independently addressing and resolving unresolved hospital and physician claims in a timely manner. This includes managing denied claims by identifying the root causes and working closely with health plans to provide necessary information for resolution. You will also be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate appeals and reconsiderations to health plans. Additionally, you'll need to quickly adapt to and effectively utilize proprietary tools and technology as part of your workflow. Other duties may arise as needed, requiring flexibility and a proactive approach to support the overall billing and accounts receivable processes.

Regular hours - Monday thru Friday, 8-5pm or 7-4pm (CST)

3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of Hospital and Physician claims follow-up and denials management
    required
  • Follow up experience is key
    Must have hospital and physician Accounts Receivable (AR) claims follow-up and denials management experience
    Hospital billing experience
    Experience working in Cerner or EPIC
    Medical Claims Clearinghouse experience
  • High School Diploma OR GED
  • Proficiency with various hospital EMRs: Cerner, Epic, McKesson, CPSI, Meditech, Etc.
  • Proficiency with various billing systems: Waystar, SSI, Quadax, Availity, NaviNet, etc.
Nice to Have Skills
  • Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic billing experience strongly preferred
  • Cerner experience is a plus
