We are looking for REMOTE Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist and Senior Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists for a healthcare system!

Role / Duties: They are to ensure that patient records are accurate and complete so that healthcare providers can make informed decisions and provide the best care. See below for more info on day to day.

- Provide comprehensive concurrent chart review along with more advanced critical thinking skills.
- Excels at communication (written and verbal).
- Strong knowledge of coding concepts and guidelines and clinical terminology.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including reimbursements, documentation requirements, and quality measures.
- Assist in special projects.
- Assist in precepting new (Level I) CDI.
- Collaborate with UM, Quality, Outpatient, and denials teams as needed.
- Trains staff.
- Prioritize CDI cases for review based on 3M 360's scoring.
- Work all action items, mismatches and notifications daily within 3M 360.

Volume / Metrics:

• 8 - 10 new patients a day
• Re-reviews - nothing less than 18% query rate

EMR / Systems Experience:

• Epic
• 3M 360

Equipment: Will be sent all equipment, BUT will make sure you have the Wifi/Internet access (will have to do a speed test)

• Co-Worker provides internet at their own cost, cannot be satellite must have router for equipment to plug into.
• Equipment provided: Desktop System, with 2 monitors, keyboard, head set and cords.
• Someone must be home to sign for delivery of equipment.
• Equipment can take 2 weeks to deliver.
• The Router needs to be in same area as monitor/computer because of the short cord they provide - they have to use an Ethernet cord
• They need to make sure everything is in a protected area
• No Satellite WIFI and cannot use hotspots

3-5 Must Haves:
- Compact RN License
- 5 years ideally - trauma, ICU training is great
- Experience with Epic & 3m 360
- High School diploma or GED

Locations: Remote
As long as from a compact states - must have a compact RN license

Nice to Have: CCDS or CDIP

Hours / Lunch breaks:
- Very Flexible (some people even work 10 hour shifts w/weekends if they want) 30 lunch and two 15 min breaks
