Job description

Position Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will provide respiratory care in both critical and non-critical care settings. Responsibilities include performing a variety of respiratory techniques such as aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, CPT, incentive spirometry, mechanical ventilation, arterial blood gases, pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, assisting with fiberoptic bronchoscopy, and performing CPR. The RRT will also assist and advise Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRTs) and perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program with an Associate's Degree.
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC.
    • Current Florida RT License.
    • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
    • NRP certification.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 40 lbs.
    • Frequent stooping, standing, walking, and sitting.
    • Ability to work in stressful conditions and make sound, independent decisions.
    • Must meet annual physical requirements (TB/PPD surveillance, mandatory education, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform respiratory care techniques, including but not limited to:
    • Aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, CPT, incentive spirometry, mechanical ventilation, arterial blood gases, pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry.
    • Assist with fiberoptic bronchoscopy and provide CPR as needed.
  • Assist and provide guidance to Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRTs).
  • Work collaboratively within the team, fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, emotional intelligence, and adaptability.
  • Act with integrity and professionalism in all interactions, promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Promote a culture of change and innovation, supporting the adoption of new practices and processes.

Schedule - Night Shift - 12 hour shifts - 7pm-7am (need flexibility)
