Job description

We're hiring a Occupational Health Nurse for an employer-based health clinic that provides primary and urgent care services, along with the treatment of workplace injuries.

📍 Position Details:

  • Location: Ottumwa, IA
  • Duration: Contract-to-hire
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Pay Range: $43-$45/hr (based on experience)

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with medical and operational leadership, local medical providers, client staff, and key corporate contacts.
  • Provide patient care and manage workers' compensation cases.
  • Facilitate the Return to Work (RTW) program and monitor treatment plans.
  • Work closely with outside medical providers.
  • Participate in daily clinic operations.
  • Assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses using evidence-based protocols.
  • Support onsite employee health and wellness initiatives.
  • Conduct pre-employment and post-offer screenings.
  • Document care using EMR systems and other tools.
  • Perform Physical Assessment Testing (PATs).
  • Manage cases, oversee medical charting, and maintain OSHA record-keeping compliance.

✅ Requirements:

  • Active Iowa RN license in good standing.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Experience in occupational health, primary care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or urgent care (preferred).
  • Proficiency in EMR software and general computer skills.
  • Ability to navigate technology (phones, texting, faxing, etc.).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift a 50lb emergency response bag.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
