• Flexibility to work 3 12's or 4 8's - day and night shifts available
• No on call requirements

General Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) unit. As an integral member of our healthcare team, the Med-Surg RN will provide comprehensive care to our nation's Veterans, ensuring they receive high-quality, patient-centered care. This role requires versatility, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work in both surgical and general patient care environments.

Essential Functions:

• Provide care for post-operative patients and those admitted for a variety of medical conditions.
• Assess and monitor patient condition, perform ongoing assessments, and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to identify changes in patient status and intervene appropriately.
• Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective nursing care.

Job Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Licensure: Current and unrestricted RN license in South Carolina.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required. Additional certifications in perioperative nursing (e.g., CNOR) or medical-surgical nursing (e.g., CMSRN) are preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of OR and/or Med-Surg nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
