Job Posting: Triage Nurse
Location: Baltimore, MD
Schedule: Full-Time (Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm)
Parking: Paid on-site at Penn Street Garage

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Triage Nurse for an administrative nursing role with minimal direct patient care. This position primarily involves managing a busy triage call line, handling patient inquiries over the phone, updating patient profiles in EPIC, and coordinating care when needed. As a Triage Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing symptoms, providing education, and determining the appropriate course of action, whether it's scheduling an in-office appointment, recommending ER or urgent care, or escalating concerns to a provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a busy triage call line, answering patient questions and providing solutions.
  • Update patient conversations and details in EPIC, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Triage patient symptoms, provide education, and offer appropriate recommendations.
  • Schedule appointments or recommend ER/Urgent Care for more serious conditions.
  • Follow up on patient cases and assess ongoing needs.
  • Escalate questions or concerns to providers when necessary.
  • Message providers through the portal regarding patient care.
  • Handle prescription refill requests.
  • Administer occasional injections when required.

Qualifications:

  • BSN required
  • Minimum of 1 year of inpatient Labor and Delivery experience
  • Active BLS certification
  • Maryland RN License required

Preferred Skills:

  • EPIC experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Soft Skills:

  • Reliable and pleasant to work with
  • Must abide by employee dress code (no facial piercings, only small earrings, natural hair color)

Compensation:

  • Pay rate: $40- 45/hr based on exp.
