Job description

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.



Specialty: Family Practice with a focus on Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment

Locations:

  • East LA Clinic: Los Angeles, CA 90033 (Bilingual Spanish required)
  • Skid Row Clinic: Los Angeles, CA 90014 (Bilingual preferred but not required)


Job Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and adaptable New Graduate RNs to join our team at either our East LA or Joshua House locations. This is an excellent opportunity for new nurses to gain experience in family practice, substance use treatment, and mental health care. Comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments, screenings, and thorough triage, ensuring timely care.
  • Provide wound care and administer injections, including treatments for substance use, mental health, and insulin management.
  • Document provider notes and patient encounters accurately in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system (eClinicalWorks).
  • Conduct follow-up calls to patients regarding clinical results and post-visit care instructions.
  • Manage triage for a high volume of walk-in patients.
  • Coordinate care and escalate cases as needed.
  • Work closely with medical assistants, who handle blood draws, to provide seamless patient care.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Experience: No prior experience required; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Skills:
    • Computer savvy with the ability to learn and navigate EMR systems efficiently (eClinicalWorks training provided).
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Independent worker, especially for East LA site, which operates with one nurse on-site.
  • Language: Spanish bilingual skills required for the East LA site; preferred but not required for Skid Row.

Training

  • Initial training at the Joshua House (Skid Row) location for 3-4 weeks.
