Job description

Overview:

The Oncology RN at Wildomar Radiation Center plays a crucial role in providing clinical support to physicians in a high volume setting. The RN will primarily utilize Epic for patient records and will also be introduced to Aria for radiation-specific information.

Daily Duties:

  • Conduct daily consults with new patients, assessing their medical history, current medications, and other relevant information.
  • Perform follow-ups on imaging, bloodwork, and other aspects of patient treatment.
  • Manage current patients on treatment two days a week, checking for toxicity and monitoring changes in response to treatment.
  • Collaborate with two physicians, providing support based on their individual needs.
  • Preparing records and charts, and maintaining effective communication with physicians.
  • No administering of medications or chemotherapy; focus on clinical support during patient appointments.
  • Work closely with an MA to ensure efficient patient care.
  • Tracking and ensuring patients complete necessary workups before starting treatment.
  • Provide critical support for patients undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, or imaging before radiation treatment.
  • Read patient histories and understand what additional information physicians may require.
  • Toggling between Epic and Aria EMRs, with prior Epic experience being a plus.
