Job description

Medix is hiring for a Registered Nurse in the East Valley!

Location: Mesa, Arizona - 85215

Responsibiltiies:

  • Provides nursing assessment, nursing care, and nursing diagnosis for employee health concerns.
  • Interviews patient to identify reason for visit and obtain appropriate health history. Completes physical examination appropriate to problem and within scope of nursing practice and Client company policy
  • Provides education for employee health concerns.
  • Provides treatment under the medical directive of a provider (e.g., dispense medication, administer immunizations and orthopedic appliances, provide wound care).
  • Provide discharge instructions to patients.
  • Issue medical recommendations/restrictions under the medical direction of the provider.
  • Provides and interprets medical testing such as ECGs, pulmonary function, phlebotomy, blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, and vision and hearing screening, within scope of license.
  • Collects specimens for alcohol and drug testing.
  • Provides or recommends immunizations for travelers, and provide education and consultation on complex travel related health issues.
  • Assesses employees for fitness for duty and return-to-work capability.
  • Interfaces with employees, community health care providers, the HR organization, the Safety, Health, and Environmental Affairs organization, ergonomics specialists, worker compensation specialists, rehabilitation counselors, etc., to determine how to maximize the safety and well-being of employees.
  • Performs a wide variety of administrative duties, including but not limited to: scheduling patient appointments, front desk interface with patients and other business partners both in-person and via telephone, filing medical records, maintaining hard copy medical charts in standard format, release and transfer of medical records, inventory and ordering of medical and office supplies.

Must-Haves:

  • 3+ Years of RN Experience
  • Active RN License

Schedule: Alternating Every Other Week (36 hours one week, 44 hours the next week)

  • Week 1: M-Th 7am-4:30pm, Friday - off
  • Week 2: M-Th 7am-4:30pm, Friday - 7am-3:30pm
