Requirements

Summary: As a Registered Nurse part of our ASC team, you will be responsible for participating in offering patients innovative care ranging from medication management to advanced, minimal-invasive surgical procedures to treat chronic pain management. We pride ourselves on putting an extraordinary work environment at the frontline, and expect our Nurses to be part of that by providing exceptional care to our patients.

Majority of your schedule is stationed at one of our two ASC's - Phoenix (85037) and Tempe (85283). However, occasional travel to ambulatory clinics to assist with small procedures may be required. Schedules are prepared and given out three-weeks in advance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, other duties may be assigned.

As a Registered Nurse (ASC), you will...

  • Conduct ongoing patient assessment utilizing Operative Plan of Care, protocols and procedures.
  • Report abnormalities to appropriate staff members such as anesthesiologists and/or surgeons.
  • Complete all required documentation of assessment results and patient outcomes on appropriate perioperative forms according to procedure.
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in such aspects of care such as aseptic technique, instrumentation, suture and surgical staple products, patient position, etc.
  • Demonstratesthe knowledge and skills necessary to set up, program and troubleshoot complex equipment such as: OR table and accessories, OR lights and halogen bulbs, electrocautery units, warming units, compression pumps, headlights, cameras and video equipment, etc.
  • Provide emotional support by standing at the patient's side during induction of anesthesia.
  • Maintain a safe environment, monitor sterile fields and control traffic patterns in surgical suites per procedure.
  • Determines patient's immediate response to surgical intervention, monitors blood loss.
  • Ensure sponge, needle, and instrument counts are performed according to procedure.
  • Attend in-service and educational offerings to maintain current knowledge and skills.
  • Identify your own learning needs and seek opportunities for self-growth. Participates in required programs; Maintains current competency skill checklists.
  • Completes and maintains age-specific growth and development competencies as required.
  • Follow Infection Control policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing CQI monitoring and data collection.
  • Identify areas for improvement and make suggestions for innovative solutions.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Registered Nurse License, State of Arizona (Active and Good Standing)
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing (ASN/BSN)
  • 2+ Years of Nursing Experience
  • BLS and ACLS Certification (Active)

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic office equipment such as: "EMR" - Centricity (electronic medical record system), computer, internet, email, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
