Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our outpatient urology practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, administrative acumen, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. The RN will be responsible for managing patient care, assisting in clinical procedures, and handling administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including health histories and vital signs.
Assist urologists with examinations, procedures, and patient education.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients for side effects and responses.
Provide wound care, catheterization, and other urological procedures as needed.
Educate patients and their families about urological conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care.
Document patient interactions and care in the electronic health record (EHR) accurately and timely.
Administrative Duties:
Schedule patient appointments and manage the patient flow within the clinic.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Coordinate communication between patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
Assist with insurance verification and patient billing inquiries.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain standards of practice.
Help manage inventory and order supplies for the practice as needed.
Qualifications:
Current and valid RN license in NY.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an associate degree in nursing (ADN) may be considered.
Previous experience in urology or a similar outpatient setting is a plus.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving patients.
Must be able to respond quickly to patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
