Referral Coordinator
Essential Functions:
Referral Management (60% of time):
- Manage referrals received via universal fax number.
- Review all referrals for accurate assignment.
- Serve as a liaison to outside referral source teams.
- Task referrals to the appropriate division for scheduling.
- Contact patients to gather additional information for managing unassigned and unsupported specialties referrals.
- Perform other referral-related duties as assigned.
Administrative Support & Tracking (40% of time):
- Quarterly update referral roster list in Allscripts Practice Management (APM) for all referral sources.
- Complete Grand Rounds Credentialing updates.
- Update OCC roster on providers, fellowship-trained specialties, accepted conditions, HCA/Centura affiliations, and clinic locations.
- Audit APM for accuracy in registering referral patients.
- Audit timeliness of consult notes sign-offs.
- Document STAT and ASAP referrals Diagnosis & HPI for CMO review.
- Monitor monthly referral distribution between MA vs. FFS.
- Compile referral tracking reports for divisions, board meetings, and committee meetings.
- Perform other administrative support and tracking duties as assigned.
Salary & Benefits:
- $20-$22/hour

Requirements:
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology.
- 1 year of direct patient interaction/experience in a medical, insurance, or healthcare-related industry.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with commonly used office software.
- Previous experience working with an EMR system.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Strong customer service focus and willingness to problem solve.
- Highly detail oriented with excellent follow-through.
- Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Possesses a high degree of self-motivation and produces high-quality work with minimal supervision.
Preferred but not required:
- Previous orthopedic practice experience.
- Working knowledge of AllScripts and/or Phreesia.
Working Conditions:
- Constant viewing of computer monitor, mousing, and typing.
- Able to stoop, lift, carry, and push/pull 10 pounds or more.
- Hours of business are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Occasionally, early, late, and overtime hours may be required.
