Job description

Hiring an on-site TEMP Referral Coordinator in Auburn! This will be a 2-3 month contract.

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and managing the referral process for patients at the clinic. This role involves coordinating with healthcare providers, ensuring timely and accurate processing of referrals, and providing excellent customer service to patients. The Referral Coordinator will work closely with medical staff, insurance companies, and other healthcare facilities to ensure a seamless referral experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Referral Management:

    • Process and manage incoming and outgoing referrals in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Coordinate with referring physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to gather necessary information and documentation.
    • Ensure all referral information is accurately entered into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  2. Patient Coordination:

    • Communicate with patients to inform them of referral status, appointment details, and any required pre-appointment preparations.
    • Assist patients in understanding their referral process and address any questions or concerns.
    • Schedule appointments for referred patients and provide them with necessary information about their visit.
  3. Insurance and Authorization:

    • Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals.
    • Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to referral authorizations.
    • Ensure compliance with insurance requirements and guidelines.
  4. Administrative Support:

    • Maintain organized records of all referrals and related documentation.
    • Generate and distribute referral reports as needed.
    • Assist with other administrative tasks as required by the department.
  5. Customer Service:

    • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and internal staff.
    • Handle referral-related inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Foster positive relationships with referring physicians and other healthcare providers.

Schedule: M-F 7:45 - 4:30 PM

Pay: Between $20-$26/hr depending on experience and qualifications
