Summary of Essential Job Functions:
* Conducts sampling, testing, and documents relevant dates in the records to facilitate the successful implementation of the SQF system.
* Defines the standards for food safety and hygiene expectations, product integrity, customer complaint investigation and resolution, and adherence to company policies
*Assists in promptly resolving consumer inquiries and conducts thorough root cause analyses for customer complaints.
* Ensures the adherence to the hold and release process for non-conforming materials.
* Manages and support the quality control technicians.
* Creates a preventive sanitation control program to ensure ongoing effectiveness and improvement.
* Timely and accurately completes testing of products and equipment including monitoring
and testing metal detectors to ensure accuracy throughout the shift. Properly documents
testing to ensure accurate and complete records and logs.
* Designs validation protocols to justify modifications to the Food Safety Plan and for new
product development.
* Executes all routine and periodic tasks, including but not limited to calibration activities in the quality control system, ingredient, packaging, and finished product tracing, thorough record-keeping, verification and validation, ensuring adherence to quality standards, offering support to cross-functional teams during GMP, internal, and external audits, and other relevant internal audits and food safety inspections.
* Conducts precise, timely, and comprehensive reviews of finished product records.
* Manages document control, including checklists, logs, and reports, and promptly reports and addresses any deficiencies.
* Strengthens the department and the organization's reputation by taking responsibility for fulfilling unique and innovative requests and seeking ways to contribute to job achievements.
* Analyzes trends in food safety and quality data and communicates the results, along with any required corrective actions, to Quality and Operations management through the use of graphical and statistical tools.
* Efficiently applies corrective measures at the plant level to minimize risks.
* Examines data to verify compliance, including reviewing Certificates of Analysis (COA) and specifications for raw materials and packaging items."
Minimum Qualifications:
* BS or BA in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or similar degree
with 2+ years of experience OR a minimum of 4 years' experience.
* Experience in a Quality role in a food manufacturing facility.
* Knowledgeable of QC standards and procedures in food manufacturing
* Can apply a scientific approach to problem solving.
* Demonstrates persistence and determination
* Rallies behind the vision and exhibits optimism.
* Passionate about continuous improvement
* Bilingual in Spanish a plus
