Job description

Medix is looking to hire a Psychiatric Social Worker to join a non-profit organization in an FSP (Field-based) care setting in Los Angeles, CA 90006.

*CLINICAL SUPERVISION PROVIDED

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical social work services under the direction of the medical staff as a primary therapist's function with each patient.
  • Complete social service assessment of new clients within 48 hours of admission.
  • Work with a caseload of 20-25 patients, ages 18-64 with moderate to severe mental health illnesses.
  • Meet patients in the community (at their home, in transitional housing or similar).
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team of Case Managers and Psychiatrists.
  • Bring to the attention of the medical/nursing staff any observations which may warrant general medical, neurological and/or surgical services.
  • Record progress notes in the patient's medical record every other day for each inpatient. A summary note shall be written upon completion of the treatment program.
  • All documentation of services shall be completed within seventy-two (72) hours after discharge.

Requirements / Experience:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology or similar
  • BBS-registration (ACSW/ APCC/ AMFT)
  • Spanish bilingual (highly preferred but not required)

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 5pm (30 minute lunch)

Pay range:

$30-34/hr BOE
