Medix is hiring a Psychiatric Social Worker (ACSW/ AMFT/ APCC) to join a well-known non-profit organization providing high-quality mental health and primary care services in an inpatient clinic setting.

The Psychiatric Social Worker is responsible for participation in inpatient services for adults with program staff on the coordination and service plans of all clients assigned to caseload, while making use of social work knowledge of the family and community while performing such duties under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts biopsychosocial assessment , individual and group therapy to adults with severe mental health illnesses.
• Caseload of 15 clients with DTS, DTO, Gravely Disabled and other diagnoses.
• Assists in the formulation and implementation of coordination and service plans.
• Participates in the review process to ensure that all clients accomplish full participation in the program.
• Assures continuity of care.
• Apply strong de-escalation techniques as necessary.
• Participates in-service training for the team.
• Relieves other primary therapists in the Agency as needed.
• Practices confidentiality in client related matters.
• Cooperates with fund raising activities for the Agency.
• Must have the ability to work with multi cultured and ethnic populations
• Maintains records and prepares reports or necessary referrals to assist in the treatment of clients.
• Serve as liaison to other departments to facilitate communication and referral of clients.
• Monitors patients' satisfaction with services on a quarterly basis.
• Refers to other agencies when appropriate.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION PROVIDED

Requirements / Experience:

• A Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or Clinical Psychology from an accredited college.
• A valid registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or license eligible.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric facility working with patients who are persistently and severely mentally ill preferred.
• Physically well, emotionally stable, and good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary treatment team essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Spanish bilingual
• 1,000+ accumulated clinical hours

Schedule:

• Tuesday - Saturday 8:30 -5:00 pm or 9:00-5:30 pm

Pay range:

$30-34/hr BOE
