Job description

**Production Lab Technician Opportunity in Tempe, AZ!**

Position Summary:

Responsible for the production of reagents and components utilized in blood typing and crossmatch kits. Tasked with ensuring the quality control of kit components, reagents, and final kits. The role demands precision in pipetting, meticulous handling of reagents, meticulous maintenance of laboratory records, and effective communication and problem-solving skills. The ability to comprehend and adhere to written procedures and instructions is crucial.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality control inspections of assembled kits and finished components.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality control of various components.
  • Prepare diverse reagents for test kits, including those made under aseptic conditions.
  • Prepare test cards for lyophilization, involving the mixing of reagents and precise calculations.
  • Operate a lyophilizer (freeze dryer).
  • Assist in the inspection, capping, and racking of microtubes.
  • Support inventory maintenance and order supplies as needed.
  • Develop protocols and draft SOPs when introducing new products/services.
  • Inoculate agar plates with fungal colonies under aseptic conditions.
  • Prepare Sepharose and Sephadex gel tubes.
  • Utilize and maintain laboratory equipment, including spectrophotometers, pH meters, balances, electronic and manual pipets, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the lab area.
  • Calibrate thermometers, recorders, balances, scales, and pipets on a quarterly basis.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a lab setting
  • Experience working with Blood samples and specimen
  • Pipetting experience
  • COVID-19 Vaccine is required

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in accurate and consistent pipetting into a large number of microtubes (approximately 1500).
  • Ability to differentiate components based on color.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, given the potential confusion associated with components.
  • Capability to read fine print.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in using Excel formulas and formatting.
  • Physical agility, involving sitting or standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, walking, and reaching above shoulder height and below the waist.
  • Must be able to independently lift 25 pounds and 50 pounds with assistance, above the waist.
