Prior Authorization Specialist

This role will consist of being the front line for requests that come into the agency. Start the process for the UR Nurses (Reviewers) Will be creating shells for reviewers to complete for each patient that comes in.

Some responsibilities include...

• Reviewing patient information: Reviewing a patient's medical history and insurance coverage to determine if a procedure or service is covered
• Intakes
• Obtaining authorizations: Completing authorizations and referrals for services, such as appointments and procedures
• Communicating with Nurse case managers: Contacting referring physicians for additional information and following up with payers, third party vendors
• Tracking cases: Tracking the progress of a case
• Assisting with billing: Completing billing documentation

We are looking for indivduals who have experience in...

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Any EMR experience
• Healthcare customer service experience ( Med front desk, Admin, etc.)
• health plan Prior-Auth experience

Pay: $20-23/hour
