Job description

A Urology Clinic in Spokane, WA is looking for a Registered Nurse to join their team.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients and verifies patient name, orients them to changing area, and secures patient belongings.
  • Escorts patient to stretcher, verifies stretcher is in locked position, and assist patient onto stretcher. Places side rails in the raised position.
  • Evaluates and completes pre-operative assessment of patient needs to provide supportive care before, during and after surgical procedures and maintains accurate and complete operative records.
  • Obtain baseline vital signs, and confirm ordered lab work has been completed. Report any abnormal values of vital signs or lab work to surgeon and anesthesiologist.
  • Starts and maintains IV per prescribed physician order.
  • Administer and document pre-operative medications as prescribed by physician.
  • Maintains and cleans equipment, operates and troubleshoots patient monitoring equipment.
  • Accountable for administration of drugs, IV procedures, and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures in a safe and accurate manner.
  • Executes informed consent prior to administration of sedation/anesthesia.
  • Accepts direction from supervisor or physicians and adheres to established routines.
  • Provides emotional support and reassurance to patient and family during perioperative stay.
  • Assists in Code Cart Maintenance and Defibrillator Checks.

    • Monday - Friday 6 AM - 2:30 PM
