Job Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- 2+ years of experience in Pre-Op/PACU, with a strong background in Surgery Centers and Orthopedics
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certified
Job Overview:
- Actively support the total perioperative processes as a collaborative team member
- Support risk management programs aimed at patient and employee safety
- Prove pre and post-anesthesia care to adult and pediatric patients
- Assess and reassess pain; utilize multi-modal pain management therapies
- Assist anesthesiologists with nerve blocks and other procedures
- Perform and document ongoing patient assessments in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Develop and collaborate on patient care plans
- Review and assess preoperative/postoperative physician orders and patient medical histories
- Conduct preoperative diagnostic procedures and provide appropriate follow-up
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers
