Job description

This Physican Surgery coding specialist role focuses on urology or neurology, requiring high industry standards, accurate coding, surgical, and denial experience within a the EPIC workflow.

Overview:

  • Duties: Code diagnoses and procedures (ICD-10-CM, CPT4, E&M, APC), review documentation, audit, and apply physician guidelines.
  • Specialization: One coder in urology, the other in neurology (denials experience needed).
  • Workflow: Initial processing of 2-3 cases per hour, aiming for 5/hour at 95% quality; experience with EPIC, bundling, and surgical coding is key.

Requirements:

  • Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED, AND active coding certification(s) (CCS, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, CMC, or CCA).
  • Experience: 2+ years in surgical coding; 6 months HCC preferred; personal equipment required.

Schedule:

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 5 PM CST (flexible start).
  • Remote
  • Contract-to-hire opportunity
