Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant with specialized experience in orthopedics to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions under the supervision of our orthopedic surgeons. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, contribute to patient care plans, and assist in surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with orthopedic concerns, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.

- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis.

- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, including prescribing medications, administering injections, and recommending physical therapy.

- Assist in surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique and ensuring patient safety throughout the operation.

- Provide patient education regarding orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care instructions.

- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes and continuity of care.

- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with advances in orthopedic practices and regulations.

Requirements:

- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

- Active license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Florida.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in orthopedics, preferably in a clinical setting.

- Proficiency in performing orthopedic procedures and interpreting diagnostic tests.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $110,000/year-$130,000/year depending on experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience assisting in orthopedic surgeries, such as joint replacements, arthroscopies, and fracture fixations.

- Additional certifications in orthopedics or a related field.

- Bilingual (Spanish), is a plus!
