Job description

Position Title: Physical Therapist
Location: School-Based Setting

Position Details:

  • Start Date: February 18, 2025
  • Schedule:
    • Monday - Thursday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
    • Friday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Job Description:
As a Physical Therapist in this role, you will work with a diverse pediatric caseload (birth to 21 years) in a school-based setting. The position offers mentorship opportunities, a manageable daily caseload, and time to complete progress notes and evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide physical therapy treatments to pediatric clients, typically 6-7 sessions per day (45-minute treatments).
  • Conduct evaluations and maintain progress notes with ample time for documentation.
  • Consult with medical providers and parents regarding treatment plans.
  • Participate in monthly Medical Therapy Clinics with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with vendors to gain knowledge about specialized equipment (no ordering required).
  • May involve occasional home visits with another staff member (subject to compliance guidelines).

Caseload Highlights:

  • Work with children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, cancer survivorship, and other activity-impacting diagnoses.
  • Learn about and utilize specialized equipment, such as power wheelchairs, full-body wheelchairs, and walkers.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Comfort and experience working with children are essential.
  • Pediatric experience is highly preferred.
  • Spanish bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
  • Must have appropriate attire to perform therapy tasks (e.g., sports pants, closed-toe shoes; no jeans).

Additional Details:

  • Dress Code: Casual, work-appropriate attire suitable for therapy.
  • Driving: May require occasional driving for home visits; use of a company vehicle or personal vehicle.
