Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist / Medical Technician to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing various patient care tasks, including phlebotomy, waived testing, specimen processing, EKGs, and manifesting. You will ensure accurate specimen collection, processing, and testing, while maintaining high standards of patient care and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a MAP (Medical Assistant Phlebotomy) license, a high school diploma, and a strong commitment to reliability and accuracy. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you can make a positive impact on patient care.

Specific Duties:

  1. Phlebotomy

    • Perform venipuncture and capillary draws for blood samples.
    • Ensure proper labeling, handling, and processing of specimens.
  2. Waived Testing

    • Conduct waived testing in accordance with established protocols.
    • Ensure accuracy and documentation of test results.
  3. Specimen Processing

    • Process specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper storage and timely transport.
    • Maintain accurate records of all processed samples.
  4. Electrocardiograms (EKGs)

    • Perform routine EKGs on patients, ensuring correct lead placement and clear readings.
    • Prepare and maintain EKG equipment and report findings to the appropriate healthcare providers.
  5. Manifesting

    • Document and track specimens or samples for transport to lab or testing facilities.
    • Ensure correct labeling and documentation of all outgoing specimens.

Requirements:

  • MAP (Medical Assistant Phlebotomy) License.
  • Previous experience in phlebotomy, waived testing, or clinical patient care is a plus.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen collection and processing.
  • Reliability and punctuality to maintain consistent patient care.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.

Schedule/Shift:

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Contract Length:

528 hours (approximately 3-4 months). Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.

Pay:

$22 - $27 / hour + 401(K) + sick + medical, dental, vision insurance
