Job description

Hiring Phlebotomist Float
Location: Hendersonville, TN
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am- 5pm

Job Overview:
Phlebotomist Floater under the direction of the area supervisor performs daily phlebotomy activities of the Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-office Phlebotomy (IOP) accurately and on time. Phlebotomist Floater works assisting with coverage of client locations as needed. Travel is required. The person in this position interacts with the client, patients, and other PathGroup personnel in a professional and courteous manner and performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers courteously, explain procedures clearly, and provide professional, compassionate service while addressing inquiries or concerns.
  • Specimen Collection & Handling: Accurately collect, label, process, and package specimens following established protocols to ensure integrity and compliance with safety standards.
  • Data Entry & Documentation: Maintain accurate records by completing requisitions, entering patient and billing information, verifying orders, and adhering to confidentiality and regulatory guidelines.
  • Administrative Support: Perform clerical tasks, manage attendance and expense logs, and assist with monthly statistics, inventory counts, and supply shortages.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to PPE, biohazard disposal, lab safety procedures, and privacy/security policies to protect patient and personal safety while maintaining a clean and compliant workspace.

Preferences:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Phlebotomist Certification is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Prior job related experience required. (1-3 years)
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and communication. Proof of auto insurance required.
  • Valid Drivers' license with a minimum of 1 year driving experience.
  • Less than 3 minor moving violation convictions within the previous 3 years.
  • Overnight stays may be required.
