Job description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy, point-of-care (POC) testing, processing specimens, conducting EKGs, and manifesting patient data. Your ability to provide excellent patient care and ensure accurate specimen handling will be crucial for the success of this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Phlebotomy: Perform accurate and timely blood draws through venipuncture and capillary collection methods, ensuring patient safety and specimen integrity.
  • Point-of-Care (POC) Testing: Conduct point-of-care testing as required, following established guidelines and protocols for accurate results.
  • Specimen Processing: Process collected specimens according to standard procedures, ensuring correct labeling, handling, and timely delivery to the lab.
  • EKGs: Perform EKGs on patients, ensuring proper electrode placement, accurate readings, and documentation.
  • Manifesting: Document and track patient specimens, ensuring proper labeling, identification, and timely transportation.
  • Patient Care: Provide excellent patient care, including pre- and post-phlebotomy instructions, making patients feel comfortable and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the functionality and cleanliness of all equipment, such as EKG machines, phlebotomy tools, and specimen processing materials.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification: Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MAP) license required.
  • Skills: Proficient in phlebotomy techniques, POC testing, EKG administration, and specimen processing.
  • Experience: Experience in a phlebotomy role is preferred.
  • Patient Care: Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent patient care, ensuring comfort and clear communication with patients.
  • Reliability: Ability to maintain a consistent and reliable schedule while ensuring timely and accurate work completion.

Schedule/Shift:

  • Shift Times: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Pay:

$23-30 an hour (Depending on experience)
