Phlebotomist Opportunity in Chicago, IL (60608)

  • Position title: Phlebotomist
  • Shift / hours:
    • 5 Days a week; Weekends are apart of schedule
    • Normal Business Hours
  • Employment: ~6 month (~1,040 Hours), Contract to Hire - contracted probationary period into direct hire / permanent position
  • Job description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. This role involves collecting and processing blood samples, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining compliance with protocols and guidelines. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to working with patients.
    • Blood Collection: Perform venipuncture and other phlebotomy techniques to collect blood samples from patients, ensuring minimal discomfort and maximum participant satisfaction.
    • Sample Handling: Properly label, store, and transport biological specimens according to protocols and laboratory standards.
    • Participant Interaction: Build rapport with patients, explain blood draw procedures, and address concerns related to blood collection.
    • Data Documentation: Accurately record sample collection details in electronic or paper-based systems, maintaining meticulous data integrity.
    • Protocol Adherence: Follow site specific protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ethical guidelines.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain phlebotomy tools, supplies, and equipment, ensuring readiness for use.
