Phlebotomist (Healthcare / Medical Phlebotomy Technician)

Job Responsibilities

Drawing Patients' Blood: This involves skill in venipuncture and possibly capillary puncture to collect blood samples from patients.
Specimen Processing: After collecting blood samples, the phlebotomist will need to process these specimens appropriately. This includes labeling them correctly, ensuring they are stored and transported according to protocols, and preparing them for analysis.
Working in EPIC: The phlebotomist will need to navigate EPIC proficiently to enter patient information, document procedures, and access relevant patient data.
Patient Interaction: Besides drawing blood, the phlebotomist will interact directly with patients. This interaction includes explaining procedures, addressing patient concerns, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Lab Duties: Apart from patient interaction, a significant portion of the role involves tasks within the lab itself, such as specimen processing, centrifugation (if needed), and ensuring specimens are prepared correctly for further analysis.

Requirements

Candidates for the Phlebotomist role must be capable of drawing high volumes in a short amount of time.

2 years of phlebotomist exp OR experienced MA with a lot of blood drawing experience
Experience with patients as young as newborn or very comfortable with learning and drawing on newborns to end of life patients
Willing to do specimen processing
