Job description

Pharmacy Technician - FLOAT

***Location: Everett is the main location but you will be required to float to Revere, Winthrop or East Boston as needed based on staffing levels/call outs.

Training for the first month will be between 4 sites (Revere, Winthrop, Everette and East Boston) and you will be at one site for one week before moving to the other one. Once training is completed they will decide if you will work at the Everette or East Boston sites which are both public trans accessible.

Overview:

The Pharmacy Technician manages refill lines, manage requests into EPIC, triage any specialty medications that the participants need. The Pharm Techs also help triage and provide information to nurses and providers, manage medication cycles that come through the center. It is important to note that this is much different from a retail pharmacy environment.

  • Communicates among a number of individuals, including patients, co-workers, insurance companies and prescribers.
  • Demonstrates compassion and care by proactively identifying and resolving potential problems.
  • Works on a team to fulfill prescription orders from start to finish with an in-depth understanding of each workstation.
  • Understands and follows applicable Federal and State laws (e.g. HIPAA), regulations , professional stands, and ethical principles.
  • As allowable by state law, certified and trained pharmacy technicians can expand on their clinical and managerial responsibilities.
  • Displays outstanding customer service skills when interacting with patients, outside providers, referral sources or others.
  • Responsible for continued professional growth and development.

Must Have Skills/Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts Pharm Tech License
  • Ability to float to Revere, Winthrop or East Boston as needed.

Schedule/Shift: M-F 8am-4:45pm
