Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Closed-Door Pharmacy servicing the Hospice Industry
Pharmacy Hours of Operation:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, shifts needed immediately: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM or 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM (open to seeing resumes for 8am-4pm schedules)
No weekend hours for first few months
Flexibility required for weekend rotation and any 8-10 hour shift within operating hours is ideal
Pay Range:
Provisional CO License: $18 - $20/hour
CO Tech License: $20 - $23/hour
Key Responsibilities:
Prescription Filling:
Fills prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, while meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
Product Labeling:
Labels medications accurately, including applying cautionary and auxiliary labels.
Inventory Management:
Participates in periodic inventory checks, stocking shelves, removing out-of-date items, and may check in drugs and supplies.
Medication Preparation:
Prepares various types of medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, ointments, and may assist with non-sterile compounding.
Customer Interaction:
Communicates in a professional and pleasant manner with internal and external customers.
Medication Returns:
May process returned medications for credit or destruction as required.
Training Support:
Assists in training new employees in pharmacy processes.
Specialized Responsibilities (at least one of the following):
Works in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
Operates automated machines for drug pre-packing.
Manages inventory functions, monitors pharmaceutical levels, identifies expired medications, and ensures compliance with Days on Hand standards.
Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system for label generation (data entry).
Mixes and packages IV medications, sanitizes IV room, equipment, and hood.
Services facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
Additional Duties:
Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Licensing:
Provisional or active CO Pharmacy Technician License.
Experience:
Experience in a high-volume pharmacy preferred (pharmacy fills approx. 1400 scripts/day).
Familiarity with fast-paced environments is essential.
Primary focus on prescription filling, minimal data entry or phone call duties.
Work Environment:
On your feet and active throughout the day.
