Company Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Our organization is committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services, and we need someone who can assist in the preparation of medication orders and contribute to the smooth operation of our pharmacy department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in our healthcare team. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Medication Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under the direct supervision of a physician.

  2. Order Verification: Checking all medication orders for completeness of information, verifying patient information, and ensuring proper physician authorization.

  3. Accurate Admixing: Admixing drugs as ordered by physicians in an accurate and timely manner according to department guidelines. Preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines.

  4. Dosage Calculations: Calculating correct dosage volumes and converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.

  5. Controlled Substances: Assisting in counting controlled drugs weekly and maintaining records. Properly disposing of all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs.

  6. Quality Assurance: Assisting with quality assurance activities, such as cleaning hoods daily, checking drugs for outdates, and maintaining accurate temperature logs.

  7. Documentation: Maintaining proper control documentation of medications, including lot numbers.

  8. Inventory Control: Providing support with inventory control of medications, preparing labels, filing, and preparing billing. Basic data entry into department automation. Ordering medication and supplies as directed.

  9. Sanitation: Assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of the admix area and the pharmacy department to minimize particle counts and improve overall sanitation.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications;

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience with inventory management is a plus.
