Job description

Are you currently in the job market for a full time role? Medix is hiring multiple Pharmacy Technicians to work for a well known healthcare organization's central fill pharmacy in Plainfield, IN. Second and First shifts are available for this role. See below for more information on the position!

Job Overview:

  • The Pharmacy Technician will be working in a specialized type of pharmacy that focuses on processing and dispensing of prescriptions for multiple retail pharmacy locations within a region
  • This organization is looking to get people started ASAP! (Even as early as Sept. 10th!)
  • Pay: 17 - 21.50
  • Shifts Available:
    • 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM-2:15 AM - 4x10 hour shifts - (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
      • Pay: 19.00 - 21.50
    • 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM-2:15 AM - 4x10 hour shifts - (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
      • Pay: 19.00 - 21.50
    • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:15 PM - 4x10 hour shifts - (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
      • Pay: 17.00 - 19.50

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Pharmacy Technician license by the State of Indiana
  • Increased pay rate is offered if the Pharmacy Technician holds the PTCB Certification, but it is not required
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment-moving pallets, lifting, standing for long periods of time, etc. Lift up to 50lbs

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains pharmacy systems and technology (for example, inventory systems, automated medication
    counting machines) by preparing informational and related records and reports to ensure accurate data
    and system compliance with policies and regulations; monitoring inventory levels and expiration dates
    for pharmaceuticals; calibrating machines; applying settings to pill or capsule specifications to minimize
    breakage; ensuring medications are continuously replenished by utilizing the computer and/or scanner
    screen; and troubleshooting pill cell issues (for example, jamming) throughout production.
  • Maintains and tracks medication inventory by sorting, placing, and storing freight in appropriate
    locations; restocking and replenishing medication in appropriate location; reporting low stock levels;
    ensuring stock rotation on a first-in, first-out basis to assist in shrinkage control; performing inventory
    cycle counts; assisting with physical counts for inventories; creating reports using inventory information
    systems; and monitoring prescription inventory for expired pharmaceuticals.
