Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting patients in understanding the intricate processes of specialty pharmacy services, guiding them through the necessary steps to obtain their medications.

  • Responding to patient inquiries in a courteous, compassionate, and knowledgeable manner, ensuring accurate information is provided and directing calls to the appropriate department when needed.

  • Connecting patients with additional support services, such as financial assistance or emotional help, by linking them to relevant programs and external service providers.

  • Accurately entering prescription details, requesting new orders, and seeking clarification from prescribing doctors under the guidance of a pharmacist.

  • Collaborating with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure smooth and timely approval and delivery of specialty drugs.

  • Partnering with medical professionals and pharmacies to coordinate seamless transitions in patient care.

  • Maintaining up-to-date and precise records in pharmacy management systems, documenting patient interactions, medication statuses, insurance progress, and any relevant updates.

  • Ensuring that all patient data is securely handled and complies with HIPAA privacy standards.

  • Offering troubleshooting and technical assistance to patients with pharmacy-related questions, including help with patient portals or issues with the pharmacy system.

  • Working collaboratively with pharmacy teams, clinical staff, and external partners to address patient concerns and enhance overall satisfaction and care.

  • Actively participating in team meetings to offer suggestions, stay updated on new medications and procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement.

  • Engaging in other tasks and projects as directed by management.

Requirements:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in the state of Illinois
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmacy setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National Technician Certification
