Pharmacy Technician

Job description

A large Illinois based academic health system is seeking experienced Pharmacy Technicians to join their brand-new state of the art distribution center in Grayslake, IL.

This is an onsite, long term position including Benefits, PTO, and the opportunity to advance within a large organization's rapidly expanding team.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, counting, and shelving inventory
  • Repackaging medications for distribution
  • Order picking, filling products, preparing medications for shipment
  • Assist with inventory counts and control
  • Assist with process improvement as part of a collaborative environment; help to determine and establish best practices
  • Miscellaneous warehouse / order fulfillment duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Illinois (must require Certification within 1 year)
  • Must be comfortable working on your feet
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds (move product boxes etc)

Additional Skills:

  • Mail Order pharmacy experience is a plus!
  • Team player / all hands on deck attitude
  • Critical Thinking Skills
  • If you enjoy process improvement, establishing procedures - this is the role for you!

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Salary: $22.75 - $30 per hour (depending on experience)

Length: 800 hours (approx. 5 months) Contract to Hire*

*Opportunity to convert to direct employment upon successful completion of contract period

Benefits provided by Medix:

In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment. Sick Pay: You will receive one day of Sick Time after working 600 hours and an additional day of Sick Time for every 300 hours after. **Please note that if you're in a city/state with unique PTO requirements, the city/state's policy will override Medix's internal PTO policy.
