Job description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacy team in Lancaster, PA. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preparing and packaging medications for LTC facilities, maintaining quality assurance, and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Location: Lancaster, PA
Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $17-$19/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Count, seal, and label prescription cards.
  • Pull medications and match NDC numbers to prescription labels.
  • Return inventory to its proper location and maintain organized stock levels.
  • Assist in keeping workstations and the facility clean and organized.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely filling of individual orders.
  • Maintain production and quality assurance standards as outlined by the supervisor.
  • Operate the RX computer system efficiently.
  • Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Schedules:

  • Rotating schedule:
    • Opening shift: 9:00 AM-5:00/5:30 PM
    • Closing shift: 12:30/1:00 PM-9:00/9:30 PM
    • Mid-shift: 11:00 AM-7:00 PM
  • Typically, two evening shifts or one evening shift and one mid-shift per week.
  • Weekend rotation: Every fourth weekend.
  • Includes a 30-minute lunch break.

Cycle Filling vs. Daily Filling:

  • Cycle Filling: Repetitive tasks with scheduled medications on 28-day cycles, usually for the same facilities each day.
  • Daily Filling: Tasks may vary based on the facilities assigned that day.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • General knowledge of medications and physician orders.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet daily production expectations (125-150 packed items per day).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment/random drug screening.
  • Reliability is essential and will be closely monitored.
