Job description

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Greenwood Village, CO

Pay: $19-24/hr (plus benefits)

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
  • OR
  • Monday to Friday: 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Position Overview:

This position requires a licensed Pharmacy Technician (or Provisional Technician) in Colorado and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our high standards of patient care and medication management. The ideal candidate will be able to efficiently support daily pharmacy operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately fill prescription items, ensuring proper packaging for dispensing and delivery, meeting pharmacy productivity standards.
  • Appropriately label medication products, including cautionary and auxiliary labels.
  • Participate in the periodic inventory process of the pharmacy, ensuring accurate stock levels and product availability.
  • Check in drugs and supplies, stock pharmacy shelves, and remove expired or outdated medications from inventory.
  • Prepare various medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, including non-sterile compounding when necessary.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Process returned medications from facilities for credit or destruction, following all guidelines.
  • Assist with the training and development of new employees, providing mentorship as needed.
  • Perform at least one of the following specialized tasks:
  • Manage the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
  • Operate automated machines for drug prepacking.
  • Monitor inventory functions, ensuring pharmaceutical levels are managed and expired medications are identified, in line with pharmacy standards (e.g., Days on Hand).
  • Input patient data and medication orders into the pharmacy system for label production (data entry).
  • Mix and package IV medications, ensuring sanitation of the IV room, equipment, and hood.
  • Service and maintain facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the pharmacy management team.

Qualifications:

  • Colorado Pharmacy Technician License (or Provisional License) is required.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices is a plus.
